We're so grateful to have sweet and wonderful clients like Missy + Franklin! For their engagement pictures, we met them at the National Portrait Gallery in DC and then walked around Federal Triangle. They were troopers and braved the chilly January weather without coats on. We share a lot of interests with them (like cupcakes, cameras, and Top Chef), so there was never a dull moment. We had a blast! Can't wait for their wedding this October!!
Two of our pictures from Kelly + Fabiola's wedding were published in The Washington Post's Metro section today. I'm so proud of these two amazing ladies for bringing attention to this inequality. We need the law to change!
We LOVED hanging out with these two in Georgetown this past spring! Can't wait for their 1920's inspired wedding tomorrow!
This was our first wedding of 2012, and we couldn't have asked for a more amazing couple and day to photograph! The girls got ready in a beautiful suite at the St. Regis. Sarah was adorably happy and nervous at the same time. When we arrived at the Meridian House for her + Andy's First Look, all of her nervousness melted away. We loved capturing them as they saw each other for the first time. It was a sweet and wonderful moment. The day continued with a gorgeous outdoor ceremony in the garden, cocktails and speeches among the linden trees in the courtyard, and lots of dancing and photobooth goodness. It was a spectacular celebration, thanks to Maria + Kelly, the incredible team at Ritzy Bee Events, who pulled everything together flawlessly as always. Sarah + Andy - Thank you again for having us there to document your day! Wishing you both all the best!

The past five weeks have been a whirlwind of gorgeous weddings and truly wonderful clients. We couldn't be happier with the start of our 2012 wedding season! We have sooo much to share. Here's a favorite shot from each of the weddings we've photographed so far this year. By the way, THREE of these brides are Hokies! We've photographed so many weddings of Virginia Tech alumni - we've lost count! :)

These two are so in love. I would tell them to hug and then wouldn't be able to pull them apart from each other - they were like magnets. We had so much fun taking their engagement pictures in Georgetown! Their wedding is this Saturday. I'm pretty sure it's going to be amazing.
We spent an awesome morning with Meghan + Ajay over Memorial Day weekend. We met them at the WWII Memorial where they had their first date. Then bagels and silliness ensued. We absolutely loved hanging out with these two!
Ajay proposed to Meghan over bagels, and they eat them every Saturday. So of course we had to include bagels in their pics :)
They originally wanted to have their wedding at a museum, so the National Gallery of Art was a perfect location to end their session. We're officially in love with this place.
Their miming skills are ridiculously awesome.
Meghan + Ajay - can't wait for next summer! :)
Here are a few sneak peeks from Kelly and Fabiola's wedding in DC last weekend.
In other news, so happy for New York and their legalization of gay marriage yesterday!
Katherine + Ken's wedding was the perfect way to start off our 2011 season! Their celebration took place at the beautiful Meridian House in DC. They incorporated so many lovely elements into their day, from Katherine's incredible gown from Hitched, to the vintage Bentley that transported them to the ceremony, to the dessert bar filled with meringue kisses, chocolate and pumpkin moon pies, baked alaskan brownie sticks, and hot chocolate...everything was spectacular! Details aside, the love that these two share was apparent. The way Ken made his bride laugh, the special way they held hands, their sweet glances at each other...there were so many moments like these throughout the day. We loved documenting every second.
Maria and Kelly from Ritzy Bee Events coordinated the day (and they were AMAZING, as always); Design Cuisine provided the delicious food and incredible dessert bar; Philippa Tarrant created the lovely florals; Simplesong Design created all of the stunning printed goods; and DJ D-Mac provided the music and kept everyone on the dance floor.
Katherine + Ken - we were honored to capture your day! Hugs to you both!
Terp Thon is a student run philanthropy organization at the University of Maryland that raises money for Children's National Medical Center. They hold a year-long fundraiser, and then end with a dance marathon where the students stay on their feet for 12 hours, raising awareness about this amazing hospital and Children's Miracle Network. The first Terp Thon was held in April 2010 with 250 dancers and $56,000 raised - the highest amount that any national dance marathon has ever raised in its first year. This year's Terp Thon had over 1,000 dancers, and they raised $138,629.44, which is the highest amount any national dance marathon has ever raised in its second year, too - incredible!
It was heartwarming and inspiring to document this event and to be able to meet some of the miracle children and their families. This was also special to me because one of our blogger friends, KT, has a beautiful daughter who was cared for by a wonderful team at Children's National Medical Center. Looking forward to seeing how much Terp Thon raises for 2012!
It was a ridiculously chilly day in DC, but Kiersten and Beau were still game for pictures! These two were so sweet to each other, and we loved getting to know them! We walked around Meridian Hill Park and the surrounding streets, and then ducked into Eatonville to warm up with some wine (we definitely want to go back there to eat - the food looked so yummy). Kiersten and Beau are tying the knot this weekend in Baltimore, and we can't wait to share their pictures!
He interviewed her for her first job out of college. She got the job. They fell in love. And the rest is history. Katherine and Ken are two of the nicest people we've ever met. And they have great style - how fabulous are Katherine's yellow heels? :) They were married in a beautiful ceremony at the Meridian House a few weeks ago. We can't wait to post about it, but first, here are a few of our favorite shots from their engagement session in Georgetown.
