I loved this moment between Erika and her father before he walked her down the aisle.

The past five weeks have been a whirlwind of gorgeous weddings and truly wonderful clients. We couldn't be happier with the start of our 2012 wedding season! We have sooo much to share. Here's a favorite shot from each of the weddings we've photographed so far this year. By the way, THREE of these brides are Hokies! We've photographed so many weddings of Virginia Tech alumni - we've lost count! :)

This adorable couple is getting married tomorrow! We spent a beautiful afternoon with them in Fells Point last fall for their engagement session. Here are a few of our favorite shots. Can't wait to share pictures from their wedding!
Our second wedding of 2011 was Kiersten and Beau's fabulous Baltimore celebration! We love these two. We had been looking forward to this day ever since their wintry engagement session in DC. Their intimate, candlelit ceremony at the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church was beautiful. The look on Beau's face when he saw Kiersten for the first time walking down the aisle was so sweet and heartwarming. He and Kiersten were both beaming with happiness. The night ended with a cocktail-style reception at the Belvedere, filled with awesome food, music, dancing, and photobooth shenanigans :)
Kiersten and Beau's fantastic vendors included wedding coordination by Elizabeth Bailey Weddings and Events; flowers by Mary-Ruth Chapin; music by Jukeboxx Band; makeup by Laura Vaeth; hotel rooms at the Intercontinental Harbor Court; and catering by Truffles Catering at the Belvedere.
We're so honored to have Stacy and Jon's wedding published in Baltimore Bride magazine's Spring/Summer 2011 edition! We haven't had a chance to blog their wedding, but we wanted to post about their feature before the magazine is off the newsstands. This wedding was absolutely incredible with so many unique touches of Stacy and Jon's personalities. Vibrant colors, a glowing bride and groom, a ridiculously fun bridal party, seaglass boutonnieres, and a tater tot bar and popcorn stand made for an awesome celebration. Their ceremony was held at Holy Cross Church, and their reception was held at the American Visionary Art Museum. See some of their pictures on Baltimore Bride's site HERE.
Their amazing vendors included wedding coordination by Kate Beck of Kate Beck Events; makeup + hair by Amie Decker of Amie Decker Beauty; flowers by Flowers & Fancies; catering by Innovative Gourmet; cake by Mary Elliott; lighting by Perkins Productions; and music by The Mustangs Band.
We also had one of our favorite pictures from Annie and Brad's gorgeous Chesapeake Bay Beach Club wedding published in Brides Washington, DC and Brides Maryland magazines' Spring/Summer 2011 editions! Their picture is at the top right.
And Laura and Johnathon's stunning vintage-inspired wedding at the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick was published in the Fall/Winter 2010 editions of Brides Washington, DC and Brides Maryland magazines. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to post about it when it was on the newsstands, but I still want to give them love. You can see some of their pictures on Brides' site HERE.
I will eventually post shots from all of these beautiful weddings. We just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Stacy and Jon, Annie and Brad, and Laura and Johnathon for trusting us to document their days. We are so grateful and lucky.
I feel like this winter is the season of babies! Several of our friends and past clients are expecting or have given birth recently - I love it! If you've been following our blog for awhile, you may remember one of our favorite couples/friends/body doubles, Kim + Jeremy, from their Trash the Dress session. These two have been cheerleaders for our business from the beginning. So many of our awesome clients have been referred by them - we can't express how grateful we are. We were honored to be able to photograph them again and document their pending arrival. Their beautiful baby girl was born on Feb 5th! We're so excited to meet her. Here are a few of our favorites from our afternoon with the soon-to-be-parents. We started out at their house (their baby's room is AMAZING), and then we headed to the Baltimore Museum of Industry...so much fun.
The American Visionary Art Museum is such a unique and exciting venue. It was perfect for Bia + Steve! Their green wedding celebration was filled with so many creative, eco-friendly details. You could tell that all of their guests were enjoying the setting. They were relaxed and just happy to be there for this amazing pair. During the ceremony, when Bia + Steve read their vows aloud, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. Their words were heartfelt and beautiful. The night ended with a packed dance floor and Bia + Steve doing the robot. It was truly wonderful. We love this couple!
Hair and makeup: Amie and Kelley of Amie Decker Beauty (Love these ladies!)
Wedding Coordinator: Cate Buscher of Plan It Perfect
Flowers: Amy Epstein of Crimson and Clover Floral Design (Amy did the flowers for our wedding, too. She's amazing!)
DJ: Anthony Simpson of MyDeejay.com (We used MyDeejay for our wedding, as well. They are top notch.)
We LOVED hanging out with these two! Rita is from my hometown - it's fun when clients can relate to my memories of growing up in good ol' Howard County. She and Chris got married last May and they wanted some pictures around Baltimore. We walked around Brewers Hill and then ended the session at Loch Raven Reservoir. It was an awesome day.
This session will definitely go down in the MVP history books as one of the most memorable. We met up with Beth and Brad on a beautiful Sunday morning last September. These two are down-to-earth and so much fun, and we couldn't wait to start taking pictures of them. As soon as I pulled my camera out to adjust my settings, I heard what sounded like water leaking from a roof and then felt hard, wet drops on my head and back. I looked up and realized a HUGE bird had pooped on me! Click here to see just how big this creature was. Beth put it perfectly, "it was like a waterfall of poop!" I could not believe a bird went to the bathroom on me before the session even started! For those who don't know me well, things like this completely freak me out. Beth and Brad were so patient and understanding while I ran away to clean myself up in a nearby bathroom. Beth even gave me one of her ponytail holders so I could put my smelly hair up - another reason why I love this couple so much. After I cleaned up and regained my composure, we started shooting!
We took a few shots around the Pier V Hotel (where they're getting married today!) and then made our way to the streets of Canton. Thanks to Brad's awesome connections, we were able to take some shots inside Mama's on the Half Shell and try their famous Orange Crush drink for the first time - it was delish! And then we headed over to Bo Brooks where Brad knew more people, and we were able to get some fun shots of him and Beth behind the outdoor bar. It was the perfect ending to their session! A big thank you to Beth's brother Jeff (who works with our friend Kim) for referring them to us! We can't wait for their wedding today!
We were lucky to capture the lovable Graham family for the second year in a row last November. You may remember their first session where Griffin was a little explorer, running around barefoot at Fort McHenry while we chased him with our cameras. Well, this time was no different! He's a year older and still a bundle of energy + an absolutely ADORABLE little guy.
I know I keep saying it, but we have an INSANE amount of pictures to post. I was going to wait until we changed our blog design to post all of the new stuff, but this season has proven to be busier and crazier than we had anticipated (in a good way :), so I'll continue posting in our old space for now. Since we're shooting Lindsay + Andy's wedding today (the last one of the season!), I thought we should post their session first. This is from way back in August. We love these guys and cannot wait for their huge Baltimore celebration today!
Big, warm, genuine smiles are the best...those are the kinds Cindy + Mike have on their faces almost all the time. These two are so sweet and fun! Food is what initially brought them together. They met while working in a restaurant, and the rest is history. They're going to make their love official this Saturday, and we're so honored to document the celebration!
Cindy and I actually go way back. We grew up in the same neighborhood, went to the same schools, she used to babysit our good friend Factor (awww), her mom tutored my sister in math, she worked with my godsister, the list goes on and on. I know this wedding is going to be fantastic and one huge dance party. As an added bonus - it's taking place on a boat in Baltimore! We can't wait for our first wedding on water (my Dramamine's already packed! :)
To stay with the Baltimore theme, we met Cindy + Mike in Fells Point for their engagement session. We had so much fun running around and exploring - we even got hungry and took a little pizza break.
