After a few weeks off from shooting in December, we jumped back into the game last month with two engagement sessions, two maternity sessions, and a wedding. It feels good to be back. Below are a few sneak peeks...

*Sigh*... we love our clients.

MSP Polar Bear Plunge 2011

This Saturday, Drew and I will once again take part in the MSP Polar Bear Plunge at Sandy Point State Park to help raise money for the athletes of Special Olympics Maryland! We'll be taking a dip into the FREEZING Chesapeake Bay with about 10,000 other people, hoping to bring awareness to the thousands of citizens with intellectual disabilities, and to honor our sweet 4 year old nephew, Vinnie.

I've set a personal fundraising goal, and would love some help to reach it - any amount would be greatly appreciated! It all goes to a wonderful cause! Please visit my fundraising page here: http://plunge15.kintera.org/mvmiller.

If you'd like to learn more about this awesome event, please visit the MSP Polar Bear Plunge website to find out all of the details. Thank you so much for your support!

Below is a collage of pictures from the last plunge we participated in. The water was a balmy 34 degrees.

And because he's such a cutie, here's a picture of Vinnie with his Titas (which means "aunts" in Tagalog).

Julie + Ryan | Engaged

I know, I know...two blog posts in one week is unheard of for me! 2011 is going to be the year of more blogging :) We spent a wonderful afternoon with a sweet couple, Julie + Ryan, in Annapolis. Love these two! The second we met them, we knew they were going to be a blast. They were up for anything! We had fun roaming the streets downtown and then hitting the beach for some sunset shots. They're getting married this August in St. Michael's. We can't wait!

Bia + Steve | Married

The American Visionary Art Museum is such a unique and exciting venue. It was perfect for Bia + Steve! Their green wedding celebration was filled with so many creative, eco-friendly details. You could tell that all of their guests were enjoying the setting. They were relaxed and just happy to be there for this amazing pair. During the ceremony, when Bia + Steve read their vows aloud, there wasn't a dry eye in the room. Their words were heartfelt and beautiful. The night ended with a packed dance floor and Bia + Steve doing the robot. It was truly wonderful. We love this couple!

Hair and makeup: Amie and Kelley of Amie Decker Beauty (Love these ladies!)
Wedding Coordinator: Cate Buscher of Plan It Perfect
Flowers: Amy Epstein of Crimson and Clover Floral Design (Amy did the flowers for our wedding, too. She's amazing!)
DJ: Anthony Simpson of MyDeejay.com (We used MyDeejay for our wedding, as well. They are top notch.)

Happy New Year

We have so much to recap, but first, I want to post a favorite shot from each of our weddings this past year and a half. These are the wonderful couples who helped make 2010 so fantastic for us. Happy New Year, everyone!

Emilie and Steve | Married

This is one of the many awesome weddings from 2009 that we didn't get a chance to blog. Emilie and her Mom have been patiently waiting since last summer for these pictures to be posted...they're finally here, ladies! :) I'm so excited to show off this gorgeous celebration. The sneak peek we posted last year can be seen here. Emilie is the sister of Abbie, one of our 2008 brides. To say we love these two sisters, their grooms, and their families is an understatement. They are all so sweet, so welcoming, always laughing and cracking jokes...and they know how to throw a party. We feel so lucky to know them and to have been invited back to document another amazing celebration in their lives. The entire day was wonderful from beginning to end. Woodlawn Farm was spectacular with its sprawling grounds, the ceremony at the quaint St. Francis Xavier Church was beautiful and intimate, and every detail was perfect. Emilie and Steve - hugs to you both!

Lauren + Keith | Sneak Peek

Meaghan + Josh | Maternity

I love photographing expecting parents...especially when one of them is a fellow photographer and friend. Meaghan and I had been corresponding over email for awhile, so I was really excited to finally meet her and her husband, Josh. Meaghan is a fantastic photographer, and Josh helps out with her business. They are both so sweet and fun, and we were honored to document this time in their lives! We were lucky to have access to a gorgeous piece of property, thanks to the wonderful Amie of Amie Decker Beauty and her parents. Amie also did Meaghan's makeup for this session...and as expected, Meaghan looked flawless. Baby Ainsley was born 2 1/2 weeks after we took these pictures, and we're happy to hear that they're all doing well! Congrats again, guys! :)

Katie and Ian | Engaged

Katie's another fellow HoCo native. She and Ian were so much fun as we walked around Georgetown with their adorable pup, Merlin, and Ian's sister, Erika. Katie and Ian are getting married tomorrow in DC! We're so excited. The weather for this session was beautiful, and the forecast for their wedding is 80 and sunny - we'll take it! See you soon, guys! :)

Rita + Chris | Trash the Dress

We LOVED hanging out with these two! Rita is from my hometown - it's fun when clients can relate to my memories of growing up in good ol' Howard County. She and Chris got married last May and they wanted some pictures around Baltimore. We walked around Brewers Hill and then ended the session at Loch Raven Reservoir. It was an awesome day.

Stacy + Jon | Wedding Sneak Peek

Jenni + Ryan | Engaged

We have a super sneak peek blog post coming up with all of the incredible couples and families we've photographed over the past 12 months. Yes, we're a year behind in blogging - ahhh! But first, we wanted to post Jenni and Ryan's engagement session, since they're getting married tomorrow, yay! Jenni is friends with Annie (whose wedding we'll be posting soon!). Jenni and Ryan are such a cute couple - they're a perfect fit for each other. We loved getting to know them better. We can't wait for their wedding!

Leila + Mike are Married

Leila and Mike are a kind and gracious couple. They both have a peaceful demeanor about them - you can't help but feel relaxed in their presence. We feel so lucky to have been there to document their marriage! Their ceremony was held in the beautiful rotunda of the Carnegie Institution for Science. It was followed by a delicious dinner of comfort food and an awesome ice cream + cookie bar catered by Design Cuisine. Leila and Mike were glowing, and they spent the rest of the night dancing with their family and friends. At the end, one of their friends sang karaoke to Madonna’s "Like a Prayer", and a bunch of the guests joined in. I love that song, so I had to resist the urge to belt it out loud, too :) They had a fantastic celebration.

A huge thank you to Maria Cooke of Ritzy Bee Events for referring them to us. She and Kelly did an outstanding job coordinating the day! Leila and Mike - thank you again for having us. We loved your wedding. Wishing you both all the best!

Leila + Mike | Sneak Peek

Greetings, blog world! Oh, how we've missed you. Can't believe it's been two months since our last post. We've been shooting a lot and catching up with work, but we're back now and ready to overwhelm you with pictures :) Leila + Mike's gorgeous wedding at the Carnegie Institution for Science is coming up next!

Love at the Maryland State Fair

When we met Stacy and Jon, we could tell what kind of couple they were right off the bat - radiant, happy, relaxed, and madly in love. Our favorite kind of couple. We're super excited for their wedding extravaganza tomorrow in Federal Hill! Below is a sneak peek from their awesome engagement session at last year's Maryland State Fair. More pics to come...

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
